With TT Week fast approaching and an expected influx of visitors to our island, local police are urging residents and tourists alike to take extra precautions in securing their vehicles. Officers have reported a noticeable rise in thefts from cars around the Douglas area in recent weeks, prompting a renewed call for vigilance.

Police advise motorists not to leave any valuables on display, even for a short time. Items such as mobile phones, wallets, sunglasses, and shopping bags can be tempting targets for opportunistic thieves. If you must leave belongings in your car, store them out of sight—ideally in the boot—and always lock your vehicle, even when parked at home or in well-lit areas. As excitement builds for TT Week, let’s work together to ensure a safe and enjoyable time for everyone. If you see anything suspicious, report it immediately to the Isle of Man Constabulary.
